AVN or Avascular necrosis of the femur neck is a disease characterized by necrosis or death of bone in the femoral head. The main risk factors are alcoholism, drug abuse, and coagulation disorders. The most frequent symptom is pain in the hip joint. AVN is generally found after 40 years of age but in recent times it is commonly diagnosed in young persons around 20 years of age also. There are 4 grades of AVN according to severity. Hip joint replacement is generally advised by an Orthopedic doctor for this disease. But Ayurvedic Treatment is found very beneficial in grades 2 & amp; 3 of AVN.
