What is Suvarna Prashana?
The process in which swarna bhasma (ash of gold) with other herbal extracts taken and administered to the children through their mouth is called as swarnaprashana, It is also known as suvarnaprashana, swarnamritha prashana or Swarna Bindu prashana.
Suvarna Prashana is a unique method of immunization that helps children to boost up their intellectual power and produce nonspecific immunity in the body to fight against general disorders. It's helpful for children with special needs, such as learning difficulties, attention deficit, and delayed milestones.
FOR WHAT PERIOD SUVARNA PRASHANA USED?
A minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3-6 months should be the minimum and maximum amount of the daily dose.
Or
If giving monthly then once in a month on pushya nakshatra day for a minimum of 30 months to a maximum of 90 months. Pushya Nakshatra comes after every 27 days. (dates for 2023 mentioned above)
TIME AND DURATION TO GIVE SUVARNA PRASHANA
Suvarna Prashana is given in the morning on an empty stomach every day or on Pushya Nakshatra.
WHAT IS THE AGE RECOMMENDED FOR SWARNAPRASHANA?
From the time of birth to 16 years, the classics recommend the practice of Swarnaprashana. It is beneficial to give it every day for at least six months from the time of birth.
We offer two types of Swarnaprashana.
Swarnaprashana on Pushya Nakshatra : On the Pushya Nakshatra days, it is once in approximately 28 days.
Anudina Suvarna Prashana (Daily Suvarna Prashana) : It is a daily dose of Suvarna Prashana for the immunity, intellectual, memory power of your child.
WHY SWARNAPRASHANA IS GIVEN ON PUSHYA NAKSHATRA DAY?
On Pushya Nakshatra day, there will be a specific mention of Swarnaprashana. Pushya Nakshatra is given a lot of significance in the classics for the purpose of collection of herbs and preparation of medicines. Pushya nakshatra day, which arrives approximately once in 28 days, is considered a good day to administer Swarnaprashana.

Before understanding this know what bhasma is and how it is prepared. In Bhasma Preparation the starter material Gold undergoes an elaborate process of purification and this process is followed by the incineration at a high temperature to produce ashes, which is also called a Bhasma. Intake of gold isn't the same as intake of metal. The National Center for Biotechnology Information vouched for the safety of Gold Bhasma after conducting detailed studies. The blood in the systemic circulation is compatible with the actions of the Bhasma. From a safety point of view, the results of this study reinforce the application of Swarna Bhasma as a therapy in clinical medicine.
